Why did you choose your specialty?
I wanted to be able to connect with people on a personal level and make a difference in their lives.
What is your favorite part of the job?
I love knowing that Grove Avenue Family & Cosmetic Dentistry’s dental hygiene team strives to create a patient- centered environment where optimum preventative care is provided.
How do you spend your time outside of work (hobbies/interests)?
Currently, I love to explore all of what RVA has to offer with my family. I’m a huge foodie. I like to try all the mom and pop places, especially with the farm fresh to table concept. I consider myself a coffee snob and will either have Lamplighter or Blanchard’s Quirk Blend in my thermos at work. Xander’s favorite family destination is the Richmond City Zoo, so he can feed the Giraffes, and local farmer’s Market, so he can devour a Mrs. Yoder’s doughnut.
Areas of Interest Include:
Im passionate about providing patients the necessary education and tools to better their oral health , and ensuring that they are aware that oral health is important to their overall oral health.
Where did you grow up?
Hmmm…. everywhere. I’m an Army brat. My childhood consisted of moving all over the US and overseas. It helped me become who I am and taught me to never judge a book by it’s cover. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
What is a quote you live by?
“Be the change that YOU wish to see in the world.” Gandhi
