Dr. Poonum Bharal

Dr. Bharal is a native Virginia resident, having gone to school in Chesterfield County, studied Biochemistry at the University of Virginia and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. While in dental school, Dr. Bharal excelled in academics and research, receiving national recognition in addition to multiple clinical and didactic accolades. Throughout her dental career, she has had the privilege to learn from several mentors in Maryland and Virginia, gaining experience in all fields of dentistry, including implant surgery, cosmetic and full mouth reconstruction procedures, orthodontics, root canals and conscious sedation dentistry.

It is imperative to Dr. Bharal that her patients feel comfortable not only in the dental chair but also in their knowledge of and communication about their dental care. She prioritizes time to explain and answer questions on how best to take care of one’s oral health. By offering sedation appointments, Dr. Bharal can help those who may be feeling anxious about receiving dental treatment. Her gentle demeanor and holistic approach to care help provide an atmosphere that is welcoming to all.

Dr. Bharal and her husband remain quite busy with their three young children. They stay active in their community and enjoy cooking, tennis, yoga and new adventures. She looks forward to meeting you!
